- Problem:A Washington D.C.-based defense contractor working with the U.S. Navy, Missile Defense Agency, Army, and Air Force, faced significant challenges integrating small business technologies into their weapon systems. In addition, small businesses need assistance managing their projects to ensure seamless integration into larger systems.
- Solution: By working closely with third-party strategic companies, the team was able to facilitate the technology transition necessary for smooth integration. A small business strategy was developed, ensuring it was tailored to meet the specific needs of the end-user. This involved reshaping the technical stack of small business solutions to ensure seamless integration.
- Results: The efforts to identify and map out technology gaps within the software systems of our small business partners led to the creation of strategic solutions to bridge these gaps. As a result, the technology transfer program experienced substantial growth, with an annual portfolio expanding from $2M to $15M over three years. This growth and the successful integration of technologies into larger systems significantly enhanced our operational capabilities. Moreover, the successful implementation of these strategies contributed to the defense contractor winning an $800M program, showcasing the effectiveness of the collaborative approach and strategic planning.
